Brouwerij De Poel is the initiative of Peter and Stefan Touw, father and son with a shared love for beer. From Langeraar in South Holland, they developed their hobby into a craft microbrewery. Since 2020, they have been continuously working on developing and refining their own recipes. What started with small 5-liter batches grew into brewing with a 30-liter automatic kettle. As soon as a recipe is fully perfected, it is scaled up externally to larger batches of 1,000 liters. The first beer on this scale appeared in 2025 and was brewed at De Noord-Hollandse Bierbrouwerij. The name De Poel refers to the Langeraarse Plassen, also known as the three “Poelen,” the nature reserve that inspires the brewery and forms its home base. With attention to detail and a healthy dose of enthusiasm, Brouwerij De Poel brews artisanal, locally rooted beers that invite discovery.
