We are Marko and André Penning, active during the day in the family business Penning Freesia and Amaryllis, but for years driven by one other passion: brewing beer. What started as an experiment grew into a mission. In 2016, the brewing bug struck: a simple 5-liter starter kit and a first blonde beer. Brewed in the kitchen, cooled in the bathtub, and fermented in the living room. Raw, simple, but above all: addictively fun. A year later, a 30-liter brewing kettle was in place, and we moved to a space within our family business. Serious brewing took place there, monthly, getting better and better, and becoming more daring. The idea of scaling up our beer had been brewing for years, but regulations held us back. Until 2022, when we made the decision. No more excuses, just doing it. We teamed up with a fellow brewer and released our first official beer: Tuindersbier. More followed quickly after that. The name was there for the taking; we have lived our entire lives in the Bospolder in Honselersdijk, right in the heart of the Westland. This is where our roots lie, and this is where we brew our story. We don't like choosing, so we brew everything that tastes good. From classics like blond, dubbel, tripel, and IPA to experiments with herbs, unique recipes, and local ingredients. We proudly use products from the Westland. Pushing boundaries? Absolutely!
